Principal Leticia Valadez and Assistant Principal Jose Salazar are delighted to share that the Mighty Mustangs are off to an exciting start. We are honored to lead the Mighty Mustangs into a new school year focused on high academic gains, fun and innovative learning opportunities, active student voice and participation as well as college-focused field trip experiences. Our students will be touring college campuses as a way to inspire and set a path for their future.
This year the Mighty Mustangs are broadcasting our morning daily announcements via a TouchCast video which includes the highlights of the week and features engaging educational videos. What a way to be exposed to a career in journalism and broadcasting! Our two sponsoring teachers, Mrs. De La Pena and Ms. Palomo, showcased their innovative use of technology and school communications at the 2018 Illinois Computing Educators Conference (ICE) in Schaumburg, Illinois.
Melrose Park School is also strengthening and developing new partnerships within our community. The Veteran’s Park District and the George A. Leoni Complex are opening their doors to our students to access their full turf and engage in football, hockey, rugby, soccer, and baseball during our physical education classes. We look forward to partnering with our staff, families, and community to provide expanded learning opportunities that will expose our students to a world of possibilities. The Mighty Mustangs are energized and inspired!
